Principal Scientist I/II - Oncology
About the role
The Oncology Translational Research (OTR) group at BR is seeking a lab head to investigate the mechanisms of efficacy and resistance to radioligand therapy (RLT). This role involves collaborative work with various groups across the drug development spectrum, including drug discovery, data science, and early clinical development groups.
Responsibilities
- Supervise translational experimental plan and biomarker strategies for various RLT drug discovery programs
- Design and conduct translational studies including in vitro assays with RLT, dissection of mechanism of action, and testing of drug combinations
- Collaborate with groups across Mariana and BR Oncology
Essential Requirements
- Post Doc experience or 3 years of relevant experience in academia or industry for Principal Scientist I
- Post Doc experience plus 2 years of relevant industry experience after the postdoctoral period for Principal Scientist II
- Ph.D. in molecular, cellular, cancer biology or related fields
- Strong foundational knowledge and experience working on cell death mechanisms, experience in the field of DNA damage response and repair, and/or RLT
- Proficiency with data mining and computational skills
- Deep understanding of cancer cell biology, familiarity with innovative cell and molecular biology techniques
- Excellent creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm for scientific collaboration and teamwork, positive attitude, scientific curiosity, dedication, agility
- Desire to work collaboratively, manage a research team and scientific projects, as well as clearly communicate scientific findings
Pay
The salary for this position is expected to range between $108,500 and $201,500 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
