Job Responsibilities
- Conduct hazard evaluations of processes involved in the manufacture of strategic materials, chemical intermediates, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and address dust hazards associated with excipient blends and other BMS materials.
- Carry out experiments, collect and interpret data.
- Collaborate extensively across teams to identify potential safety issues and guide process design toward intrinsic safety.
- Organize and communicate results both orally and in writing to various groups and management levels within BMS, as well as to external partners.
- Utilize a diverse range of instruments and techniques to support process research and development.
- Conduct safety evaluation tests following standardized procedures, with customization as necessary to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 4-6 years of relevant industrial experience in process development or hazard evaluation.
- Master's with 6 - 9 years of experience or Bachelor's with 9 - 12 years of experience, with experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Strong technical skills in chemistry, chemical processing equipment, and calorimeters.
- Prior experience in safety testing, hazard evaluation, plant operations, process development and scale-up, as well as clinical material manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to manage multiple assignments effectively.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
