About the role

As a Principal Robotics Software Engineer, you will architect and deliver the systems powering our next-generation autonomous manicure robot. This is a highly impactful role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware and software, is passionate about robotics, and excels in solving complex real-world problems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the long-term technical architecture of the software that powers our robotic consumer product, focusing on performance and reliability in production.
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of core software components (primarily in C++ on Raspberry Pi 4/Linux) that control our advanced robotic systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, tackling ambiguous and technically challenging system-level issues spanning electrical, mechanical, and computer vision disciplines.
  • Drive the technical roadmap for robotic control systems, exploring and integrating new technologies and algorithms.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, helping them grow and solve complex problems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of proven experience in software development, with a track record of shipping multiple complex hardware products, ideally within robotics.
  • Deep expertise in C++, including system design, low-level debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and leading the development of large-scale, real-time, and safety-critical embedded systems.
  • Proven ability to solve highly ambiguous and technically challenging problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience with Linux-based embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and real-time constraints.
  • Experience with embedded systems in a robotics or electromechanical context is highly preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $190,000 - $210,000 USD. Compensation is determined based on individual qualifications, skills, and experience. Equity and benefits are included for all full-time employees.
