About the role
As a Principal Quality Specialist you will be responsible for activities related to the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the Westinghouse Quality Management System at the project level, including Project Quality Plans and implementing procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Quality Manager's activities related to Quality management of APX projects, including schedule maintenance, tracking customer deliverables, and monitoring and reporting project Quality performance.
- Responsible for Quality Oversight of project activities, including leading or participating in targeted surveillances, audits, self-assessments, and design reviews.
- Support activities related to the interfaces with other Quality organizations, such as ASME Section III Quality, Supplier Quality, and Corporate Quality.
- Support Quality's role as a quality management system consultant to other project functional groups, such as Engineering, Licensing, and Procurement, in the development of those groups' plans, procedures and safety analysis reports.
- Support the implementation of the Westinghouse Quality Management System, project quality plans, and project procedures for APX projects.
- Establish and oversee project team training requirements related to project requirements and implementing procedures.
- Work with engineering, supply chain, and project management to support APX projects.
- Maintain compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System for project execution.
- Promote a healthy Nuclear Safety Culture and Safety Conscious Work Environment.
- Promote safe, error-free performance through demonstrated use and promotion of Human Performance tools and organizational learning.
- Perform Quality oversight of specified activities.
- Recommend and implement solutions to quality problems, thorough corrective and preventive actions, and ensure solutions are communicated and implemented to appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensure effective change management, keeping clear and open lines of communication with other Quality organizations, leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers.
- Work with other intercompany Quality organizations to support audits, ensure compliance and process consistency, and to share best practices and lessons learned.
- Represent and support the APX program in external (customer or regulatory) quality audits and inspections.
- Monitor quality metrics, conduct data analysis, and prepare reports related to Quality performance.
Qualifications
- BS degree or equivalent (preferably technical)
- Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience
- Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, fabrication and testing work processes
- Auditing skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~10%
Beneficial
- Experience with Nuclear programs such as NQA-1, ASME Section III, or ISO 19443.
- Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards including: ISO 9001 and 19443, 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME Section III B&PV Code
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
