About the role
As a Principal Quality Engineer you will lead and mentor others in a variety of quality assurance duties to ensure implementation of the Westinghouse QMS, WCAP system and ASME program.
Key Responsibilities
- Support administration of the WEC QA programs.
- Support the implementation of the Westinghouse Quality Management System, project quality plans, and project procedures for APX projects.
- Establish and oversee project team training requirements related to project requirements and implementing procedures.
- Work with engineering, supply chain, and project management to support APX projects.
- Maintain compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System for project execution.
- Perform Quality oversight of specified activities.
- Be the primary contact with the Authorized Nuclear Inspector Supervisor (ANIS) and Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI).
- Maintain ASME Section III Code Program manuals where:
- Lead manual (and supporting procedure) updates when updates.
- Assure the manual meets the organizations' process needs and reflect organizational changes.
- Assure Level 2 implementing procedures meet ASME Section III Code and Westinghouse Code Program requirements.
- Assure activities affecting quality are performed in accordance with the Westinghouse ASME Section III Code Program.
- Support ASME Section III Code Projects by:
- Mentor employees with regard to ASME Code applications (e.g. Data Reports and Certified Material Test Reports, CMTRs) and compliance for new (e.g. AP1000) and established Westinghouse projects.
- Review work process documents for compliance to Code, specification, QA program.
- Assure that quality commitments and schedule aligns with customer needs and expectations.
- Assure ASME Section III Code Program requirements have been met prior to Code Certification (Stamping) for Section III Components including National Board Registration.
- Follow-up on corrective actions, evaluate responses and ensure objective evidence substantiates closure.
- Support preparation efforts and host ASME Section III Code surveys, Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) Audits and internal (audits) assessments of the Westinghouse Code Program.
- Assure required responses to all ASME Section III Code findings are correct, complete, submitted and closed on time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field
- Minimum 8 years of applicable quality experience
- Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards including: 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME Section III B&PV Code
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
