What You'll Be Doing
- Program life cycle activities from project setup, maintenance, invoicing support, accruals, financial monthly projections and support month end close
- Collaborate with Program Manager and other functional departments to include business manager, billing, contracts, subcontracts and operations to ensure business plans are implemented, forecast and plan are developed and monitored, and financial objectives are achieved
- Prepare and support Quarterly Deep Dive, AOP, and monthly forecast
- Develop and Maintain Estimates at Completion (EAC) and assist in accurate projections of Estimates to Complete (ETC) on large complex construction programs
- Maintains the project Risk Register by participating in monthly workshops with the project team to identify new risks, mitigate existing risks and support the calculation of the cost and schedule impact and associated contingency based on the risk probability
- Oversee the development and maintenance of an established information management system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keeps project and company management fully informed of project status
- Affords the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages
- Reporting and variance analysis to include Revenue, Profit, cash backlog and Risk and Opportunities
- Detailed analysis and validation of financial data to ensure accuracy and reasonableness
- Develops new program and project control processes and procedures related to budgets, estimates, schedules and roll up of program information
- Reviews proposed project budget and scope changes for proper justification and documentation. Troubleshoots project-specific budget, scope, schedule, funding or documentation issues working with other Divisions, Branches or Departments
- Manages subcontractor and client invoice cycles
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering or Construction Management (or related field)
- 5+ years of related work experience, or equivalent work experience required
- Hybrid work schedule, must be able to work on project site (Kingsport Tennessee) 2-3 days/week
- Experience using Excel, Forecasting Tools and Costpoint
- Experience with fixed price vertical construction projects
- Experience working on federal contracts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Skills
- Experience in Primavera and Scheduling software
- General understanding of GAAP principles
