Principal Program Manager

About the role

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead complex, cross-organizational technical programs impacting both product and business for OCI. This role is visible and executive-facing, managing programs at the Senior Vice President (SVP) level of OCI, coordinating across multiple executive levels and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple cross-functional workstreams and/or programs with a clear strategy for communication, reporting, and delivery.
• Demonstrate impeccable judgment and prioritization of deliverables and risk mitigation.
• Prepare and present executive documents and data-driven reports.
• Make recommendations for at-scale improvements and optimize business processes to streamline execution.
• Persistently partner with leaders and peers to reliably provide value to our organization and customers.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and the "gray" space, understand business deliverables, and independently put together a program for delivery.
• Meet deliverable deadlines by anticipating roadblocks and working with teams and stakeholders to remove them.
• Create risk management plans and maintain risk register.
• Define program scope, including estimations for deliverables such as requirements and conceptual design tasks and related documentation.
• Lead regularly scheduled status meetings with engineering teams, senior stakeholders, and executives; strong written and oral communication is a must.
• Manage communication across organizations and cross-functional teams.
• Develop standard program deliverables; i.e., SOWs, Project Charters, Project Timelines.
• Have strong ownership to manage projects from implementation to completion.
• Leverage AI tools to optimize processes and workstreams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading complex technical / engineering programs, preferably in cloud infrastructure.
• 10+ years relevant work experience in program and project management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Telecommunications.
• Proven ability to effectively represent engineering perspectives to partner organizations, product teams, and executive leadership.
• Ability to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering staff at all levels including the executive level.
• Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills.
• Solid analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of business need with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
• Able to mentor junior TPMs.
