Principal Power BI Software Engineer
About the role
We are looking for a Principal Power BI Software Engineer who shares our drive to push boundaries and build applications that make a real difference. In this role, you will lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of specialized tracking applications. You will be challenged to write clean, efficient code using Power Query M code, DAX, Java, and Python to develop critical fingerprinting capabilities that identify cyber threat actors through behavioral signatures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of specialized tracking applications.
- Write clean, efficient code using Power Query M code, DAX, Java, and Python to develop critical fingerprinting capabilities that identify cyber threat actors through behavioral signatures.
- Architect scalable cloud databases, optimize PostgreSQL/MariaDB structures, and fulfill custom ingest requests through robust RESTful APIs and GitLab CI/CD pipelines across OpenShift environments.
- Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs for secure data exchange.
- Develop and maintain custom analytics pipelines.
- Develop and maintain custom ingest requests through robust RESTful APIs and GitLab CI/CD pipelines across OpenShift environments.

Requirements
- Active Fully-Cleared with Poly (TS/SCI with MD Polygraph).
- Expert proficiency engineering advanced data visualizations in Power BI using Power Query M code (and DAX).
- Deep background in database design, schema layout, and SQL query optimization using PostgreSQL.
- Extensive experience building and maintaining robust RESTful APIs for secure data exchange.
- Solid scripting capabilities using Python to manipulate data and automate system ingest.
Desired Skills
- Deep knowledge of Power BI Desktop application features and Power BI Report Server Administration.
- Professional development foundation using Java (including modern versions like Java 17 / Spring Framework 6).
- Operational stability experience within a Windows ecosystem.
- Experience engaging with engineering partners and customers to debug and resolve complex data visualization issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree (totaling 24 years of experience).
Benefits
Annual base salary range for this role is $216,000 - $256,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
