About the role

We are seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to lead the architecture, automation, and standardization of a modern cloud platform supporting enterprise-scale software delivery, cloud operations, and emerging AI capabilities. This is a newly created, high-impact leadership role for a hands-on platform engineering expert who thrives at the intersection of cloud architecture, DevSecOps, developer experience, automation, and reliability engineering. You'll help define how engineering teams build, deploy, secure, and operate software across the organization.

Responsibilities

Define and execute a platform engineering strategy that improves developer productivity, consistency, and operational resilience
Arcitect and scale enterprise-grade CI/CD platforms that accelerate delivery while reducing operational risk
Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with reusable, standardized modules
Embed security throughout the engineering lifecycle through automated guardrails, policy-as-code, secrets management, and governance controls
Advance deployment automation, progressive delivery practices, and rapid recovery capabilities
Build observability strategies across distributed applications, microservices, and cloud-native environments
Strengthen AWS cloud operations through improved IAM, networking, governance, and runtime visibility
Establish engineering standards and platform best practices across multiple development teams and external partners

Requirements

10+ years of Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering experience
Proven success operating and scaling complex production CI/CD ecosystems
Deep hands-on expertise with Terraform and modern Infrastructure as Code practices
Strong background in DevSecOps, security automation, compliance, policy enforcement, and vulnerability management
Experience implementing observability, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence across distributed systems
Advanced knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, IAM, networking, cloud architecture, and platform operations
Strong understanding of software delivery, developer tooling, release management, and operational metrics such as reliability and MTTR
Ability to influence technical direction, establish enterprise standards, and communicate effectively with engineering leadership and executive stakeholders

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and other cloud technologies
Strong background in DevSecOps and security automation
Experience with observability and monitoring tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
