Principal Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions across AWS, on-prem, and hybrid environments
  • Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules and platform components
  • Develop and enforce secure-by-design solutions aligned to CMMC Level 2 and enterprise security requirements
  • Partner with Security Architecture and GRC to translate security and compliance requirements into implementable controls
  • Lead the implementation of network segmentation, identity integration, logging, and monitoring solutions
  • Drive adoption of automation-first practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Policy as Code (PaC)
  • Solve complex platform and infrastructure challenges through hands-on engineering and rapid iteration
  • Contribute to and refine platform standards, patterns, and reference implementations through working code
  • Support and mentor engineering teams on best practices for infrastructure, automation, and platform design
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies (including AI-enabled platforms) with a focus on practical implementation and risk alignment

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and building in AWS (multi-account environments preferred)
  • Deep experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
  • Strong understanding of networking, identity, and security implementation
  • Experience implementing solutions in regulated or compliance-driven environments (CMMC, NIST, etc.)
  • Experience building and integrating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure
  • Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Proven ability to take solutions from design through implementation and operation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
  • Familiarity with DevOps and platform engineering operating models
  • Experience implementing zero trust or modern security architectures
  • Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with enterprise systems (e.g., identity providers, ITSM, monitoring)
  • Exposure to container platforms and Kubernetes

Benefits

This role is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Pay

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 104300.00-193700.00.

The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations. Accordingly, candidates must either be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or be prepared to collaborate with the company in securing the necessary U.S. government export authorizations.
