Responsibilities

  • Own the design for distributing laser light to calibration ports in photonic chips
  • Analyze optical power needs for system calibration performance
  • Create methods for calibration in large quantum systems
  • Select and specify optical signal detection and readout architecture
  • Guide electronics design for laser control and detector outputs
  • Evaluate design trade-offs focusing on power and cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with teams to improve calibration workflows and hardware integration

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of continuous wave (CW) and pulsed lasers
  • Expertise in fiber amplifiers and optical distribution systems
  • Proficient in phase noise analysis and noise figure evaluation
  • Knowledge of fiber polarization control and optical system performance
  • Experience with integrated and discrete photonics designs
  • Ability to design hardware for production-ready environments
  • Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
  • Independent and possesses strong engineering judgment
