Re:Build Fikst, a Re:Build Manufacturing company, is a dynamic product development and engineering consulting firm located in Wilmington, MA. We work with pioneering clients to develop their technology, design their products, and bring those products to production. Re:Build Fikst's areas of expertise include biomedical instruments and consumables, microfluidics, specialty plastic design, optics, industrial automation, robotics, and design for manufacturing. We have extensive in-house laboratory and rapid prototyping capability including CNCs, 3D printers, waterjet and laser cutters, which help facilitate our ability to prototype and innovate fast. As part of Re:Build Manufacturing, we are able to collaborate with other member sites and leverage a greater network of capabilities including composites, industrial design, structural analysis, and embedded systems design.

About the Role

We are looking for a mechanical engineering team leader who is excited about product development and coaching the next generation of engineers. In this role, you will support and mentor product development teams to advance new technologies and bring new products to market. You will be the backstop for project teams, keeping up with the day-to-day design work and providing support on the toughest technical problems your teams face. You will coach on softer skills like project management, writing project proposals and statements of work, and budget reviews. As a team leader, you will support 3-15 engineers, depending on team sizes, project scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Support and mentor product development teams to advance new technologies and bring new products to market
  • Be the backstop for project teams, keeping up with the day-to-day design work and providing support on the toughest technical problems your teams face
  • Coach on softer skills like project management, writing project proposals and statements of work, and budget reviews
  • Support 3-15 engineers, depending on team sizes, project scope and complexity

Requirements

  • S. in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Broad technical background and a desire to learn more
  • Experience in consulting
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentorship/coaching
  • 3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
  • Experience with a range of manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, sheet metal, casting, etc.)
  • Experience designing biomedical or automation products a plus

  • Passionate about teaching product development to less experienced engineers
  • Experienced with complex technical projects
  • Creative problem solver who can connect scientific theory with engineering design to create novel products
  • Exceptional listener and communicator able to interpret client needs and represent sound development methodology
  • Life-long learner who can jump into an unfamiliar field, identify core issues and quickly contribute to solutions
  • Collaborator that enjoys working in teams of scientists, electrical engineers, optical engineers, manufacturing partners, and industrial designers

Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $165,320.12 - $247,980.18 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.

The base salary range for this position is $165,320.12 - $247,980.18 per year.
