Principal MCP/AI Developer

For our client, we are seeking a Principal MCP/AI Developer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for the agentic platform, including the tool/capability model and architecture
• Frame and prioritize AI problems aligning with product strategies and convert ambiguity into actionable plans
• Establish an evaluation and quality framework for AI systems, focusing on accuracy, safety, and performance trade-offs
• Set architecture standards for trust including traceability, auditability, and human-in-the-loop practices
• Lead cross-team initiatives that encompass multiple products, influencing teams across the organization
• Promote shared agentic capabilities and frameworks, raising engineering standards and ML maturity
• Act as the technical authority for critical decisions regarding performance and scalability, mentoring senior engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• 8–12+ years in software engineering, with significant focus on large-scale or platform systems
• Hands-on experience in building and operating AI/ML systems in production, particularly LLMs and agents
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern web technologies, with strong architectural skills in distributed systems
• Ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
• Experience operating independently in ambiguous problem spaces
• Excellent communication skills to engage senior stakeholders

Pay

$153,000 – $224,400 annually
