About the role
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. The Principal Investigator (PI) is responsible for conducting objective clinical research, managing the research project, and ensuring compliance and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the design, conduct, and reporting of the research project
- Oversee compliance, financial, personnel, and other related aspects of the research project
- Coordinate with necessary departments to ensure research is conducted in accordance with federal regulations and sponsoring agency policy and procedures
- Minimize risks to research subjects by using procedures consistent with sound research design and avoiding unnecessary exposure to risk
- Inform human research subjects of risks and benefits, obtain informed consent, and maintain confidentiality of data
- Monitor data to ensure safety of human research subjects, respond promptly to requests for information, and ensure adequate resources and facilities are available
- Delegate tasks to qualified individuals, inform associates of study procedures, and document informed consent
- Maintain accurate research data, report adverse events, and ensure proper care for adverse events
- Collaborate with investigators to ensure they have appropriate credentials and complete required training modules
- Adhere to Good Clinical Practice guidelines and ensure research study conduct adheres to protocol-specific requirements
- Work in close collaboration with company quality and clinical operational oversight
Qualifications
- A valid medical degree (MD or DO)
- 5+ years of clinical research experience as a PI or Sub-Investigator
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- An active medical license in good standing, with unrestricted ability to practice in place of work, where applicable
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including strong communication, presentation, written, and interpersonal skills
- Results-driven, with a track record of building, managing, and motivating teams to meet or exceed clinical goals and objectives
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities supporting clinical continuous improvement initiatives
- Advanced organizational and project management abilities, including the ability to work within tight deadlines on a range of projects
- Self-starter and highly motivated individual who can identify needs and proactively work to solve problems and gaps

Pay
The typical base pay range for this role is USD $156,600 - $266,700 per year. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, skills, and other market-based factors.
