Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: Two or more years Internal Audit experience.

  • Skills: Professional level report writing skills, professional skepticism and the ability to maintain independence, attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and identify trends or outliers, effective communication skills, intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Required: Working knowledge of IPPF / Global Internal Audit Standards, working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS, Nevada Gaming License.
  • PREFERRED: CIA certification.

Key Responsibilities

The Principal Internal Auditor performs non-gaming operational audits of business processes, assists in examining and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, identifies and documents business processes and controls in accordance with established department standards, assists in presenting verbal and written results of audit activities to various levels of management and the Board of Directors, contributes to and maintains a strong relationship with property management and staff.

When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively written and verbally.
  • Computer Skills: Requires strong time management and the ability multi task. Requires use of standard office equipment.
  • Mobility: Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Requires bending and reaching. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Eye/Hand Coordination: Requires strong math skills. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Compliance: Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS) and other instructions.
  • Physical Tasks: Minimal exposure to cleaning chemicals. May have minimal exposure to cleaning chemicals. May transport, push, pull, lift and maneuver items weighing up to 15 lbs.
