About the role

Designs and develops safety programs, policies, and procedures. Provides professional consulting across the company. Monitors, interprets, analyzes and communicates federal, state, OSHA and other related rules and regulations. Designs and develops improvement strategy/plans. Conducts health risk assessments and audits. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Consults with management in highly unique or unusual situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides corporate oversight, overall program management and leads the development of initiatives.
  • Takes the initiative in developing company response for new safety & health programs.
  • Represents the company in depositions and legal issues.
  • Provides work direction and mentors other team members including professional and hourly employees, in helping them understand their assignments and technical requirements.
  • Consults on complex safety & health initiatives and serve as subject matter expert resource for others.
  • Leads cross functional teams.
  • Provides assistance and direction when required for effective team functioning. May serve as acting supervisor when required, such as time reporting requirements, expense approval, etc.
  • Administers special projects including but not limited to contractor oversight, ventilation requirements, and budgeting activities.
  • Identifies, selects qualified abatement/demolition contractors for industrial hygiene projects to drive excellence and safety priorities.
  • Experience as a technical liaison with regulatory agencies during project permitting process and close-out.
  • Serves as the regulatory compliance subject matter expert in the area of safety & health.
  • Analyzes data, reviews initial responses developed by Consultant and Senior Consultant. Reviews and develops response for highly complex regulation. Recommends policy and procedural changes based on regulatory requirements.
  • Interprets new and proposed regulations and recommends response.
  • Serves as subject matter expert regarding industrial hygiene, health or environmental hazard training, presents final training materials to management for approval and implementation.
  • Conducts and reviews complex health audits, industrial hygiene surveys, assessments and inspections, exposure monitoring, medical surveillance and engineering controls.
  • Independently conducts and coordinates highly complex, extremely serious and/or highly confidential investigations. Provides oversight on other investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Business or related discipline required.
  • Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene or closely related field from an ABET Accredited University Program preferred.
  • ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification AND Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required.
  • Experience as a technical liaison with regulatory agencies during project permitting process and close-out.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10-15 years of Industrial Hygiene related experience.

Pay

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $97,600.00 to $138,600.00 per year
