About the role
Arcadis is seeking a Principal Industrial Hygiene Consultant based in Houston or Dallas, Texas. This role emphasizes client marketing, developing client relationships, mentoring staff, and growing Industrial Hygiene services both locally and nationally.
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with client stakeholders in the Gulf Coast region to identify and pursue business opportunities.
- Develop and manage a wide variety of Industrial Hygiene and safety services in the Gulf Coast region and across the country, including chemical exposure assessments, noise surveys, asbestos, lead-based paint, hazardous building materials, IAQ/mold consulting services, and compliance work.
- Oversee the preparation of complex project proposals, reports, and deliverables; coordinate and conduct necessary reviews with in-house consultants, client representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders on team projects.
- Provide leadership, training, and management support to and mentor staff in the Industrial Hygiene consulting discipline and serve as a subject matter expert resource.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in a client-focused consulting environment with a focus on Industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead-based paint, hazardous building materials (HBMs), management of HBMs, indoor air quality (IAQ) and mold evaluations, and chemical exposure assessments.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations and training sessions.
- Education: BS in physical sciences, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental sciences, or related science/engineering fields, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- General understanding of HVAC and building mechanical systems, construction, renovation, and demolition activities.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations related to asbestos, lead, mold, and related HBMs.
- The ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 30 pounds over the course of a work shift, and climbing and descending ladders as needed.
- Preferred but not required: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or ability to obtain CIH within one year of hire; strong network within the Oil & Gas sector; current membership in industrial hygiene organizations (e.g., AIHA); OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $136,400-221,600. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
