About the role

The Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Department in Huntsville, AL is a multi-discipline organization responsible for designing, building and integrating state of the art testing environments (flight simulators for missiles).

Responsibilities

  • Work with weapon system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate, and deploy the systems to help support tactical software development, testing, and delivery for missiles to the warfighter.
  • Contribute to the completion of all stages of product development (CCA through systems level).
  • Be responsible for technical, cost and schedule management of their assigned projects.
  • Act, either as a part of the team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Electrical engineering design experience to include electronic design, troubleshooting, analysis, and test environments from the circuit card level up to a full system.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as: Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, Creo Schematic and/or Xilinx Vivado.
  • Experience with test equipment, such as: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers and/or Power Meters.
  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.

Qualifications

  • Bid and proposal experience.
  • A working knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques.
  • Ability to utilize existing designs as a starting point to interface with new units under test (UUTs) and UUT configurations when necessary.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Practical knowledge of project management.
  • Leading large multi-disciplinary teams to include tasking responsibility.
  • Budget responsibility.
