Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with AR leadership to develop talent strategy that supports team growth while maintaining the deeply technical, research-driven culture that makes the team exceptional
  • Drive organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management for a global team of scientists and engineers working across formal methods, neurosymbolic AI, and production systems
  • Coach leaders on career development, leadership practices, and managing highly specialized technical talent (PhDs, distinguished engineers, research scientists) whose work spans academic research and production deployment
  • Develop and implement retention and engagement strategies for a globally competitive talent pool where researchers are heavily recruited by peer companies (Google DeepMind, Microsoft Research, Meta FAIR)
  • Lead talent reviews and succession planning focused on building the pipeline of future AR leaders and ensuring organizational health in a rapidly scaling team
  • Analyze business metrics and org health data to make recommendations that improve performance, capability, and the employee experience for a research-oriented organization
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to refine hiring strategies for the exceptionally specialized AR talent market (formal methods, theorem proving, programming languages, mathematical logic)
  • Provide compensation guidance to leaders, including navigating complex offers for highly sought-after research talent in a competitive global market
  • Lead or contribute to cross-team PXT projects that advance the broader AGI organization's people strategy

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above, or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of leadership work as an HR generalist, preferably in a high tech environment experience
  • Experience coaching senior leaders and managers with strong talent assessment skills
  • Experience supporting highly technical or research-focused organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience establishing credibility quickly with senior level executives across organizations
  • Experience delivering complex, data-driven recommendations to senior leaders
  • Experience working with global teams and diverse partners
  • HRBP experience supporting PhD-heavy or research-oriented teams (AI/ML, formal methods, applied math, or related fields)
