Principal Highway Engineer

Responsibilities

• We seek motivated candidates with 10+ years of Engineering experience, with a desire to work in a Team environment, and capable of supervising Engineer/Junior Engineer level staff.
• This position provides the opportunity to be an integral member of a multi-discipline design team, looking for exposure to the various disciplines required for advancing transportation and civil related NJDOT and County projects.
• The NV5 NJ office has exceptional experienced staff with the desire to train and support Technical Management and/or Project Management career goals of the applicant.
• Prepare roadway/highway design and plan development from conceptual design to final contract plans.
• Familiarity with TAP and SRTS projects through NJDOT Local Aid is a plus.
• Prepare technical reports and studies, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports.
• Lead project field visits to perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline design engineers and technicians.
• Opportunities for involvement in Project Management skills pertaining to project budgets and schedules, and adherence to a project’s scope of work.
• Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE)
• NJ PE License

Pay

$130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year. Base pay offered for this role may vary and can be higher or lower depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the role offered.
