Principal Geotechnical/CMT Engineer

About the role

Responsible for leading geotechnical and construction materials testing projects in Pittsburgh, PA. Conducting site investigations, analyzing soil and rock properties, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical and CMT projects from concept through completion
• Conduct site investigations and analyze soil and rock properties
• Ensure project compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement testing protocols
• Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering or related field
• Knowledge of geotechnical and CMT testing methods
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Experience with geotechnical software such as GSI-Log or similar tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
