Principal Full Stack Engineer
About the role
Join MetLife’s Global Technology team and contribute to shaping the future of digital solutions for customers worldwide. As a Principal SWE Tech Lead / Salesforce Architect, you will lead design and delivery of scalable Salesforce solutions, driving architecture, integrations, and end-to-end solution delivery across Salesforce and connected systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery and architecture governance
- Design and develop secure, scalable, distributed enterprise level end-to-end Salesforce based solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, integrations, etc.)
- Oversee IT aspects of software development life cycle using agile and DevSecOps methodology across a set of group benefit applications
- Manage stakeholders’ expectations, balance priorities across multiple teams
- Collaborate with dev teams, business systems analysts, product & business teams, partners, and project leads across various phases of a project and product delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 10+ years of hands-on distributed application development experience
- 7+ years of strong hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, SOQL) with expertise in building scalable solutions, integrating external systems (REST APIs, event-driven architecture), and applying best practices across architecture, data modeling, security, and performance optimization
- Hands-on development experience with JAVA, Typescript / JavaScript, and the following frameworks/technologies: Spring, Springboot, ReactJS, NodeJS, and/or Azure/AWS
- Exposure or knowledge of messaging/integration technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Services: Functions, AKS, ASE, CosmosDB
- Experience with MACH architecture (Microservices, API, Cloud, Headless)
- Experience with Veracode and security best practices
- Experience with tools such as helmcharts, ansible, and Terraform
- Hands-on development of microservices and applications from the ground up
- Experience with messaging/integration technologies (e.g., Kafka, MQ, or similar)
- Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including both SQL (Oracle or MS SQL Server preferred) and NoSQL (CosmosDB preferred)
Location Expectation
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office. The expected salary range for this position is $123,500 - $164,700. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
