Principal Flight Software Engineer I

This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle—from concept through to in-orbit operations. What You’ll Be Doing Design and develop mission-critical software for satellites, ground systems, and mission operationsOwn the full software lifecycle: architecture ? development ? testing ? deployment ? in-orbit supportWork across the stack, including:Embedded systems / microcontrollersLow-level drivers & BSPsApplications & data systemsCollaborate closely with hardware, systems, and test teamsLead design reviews and present to customers and senior leadershipMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical directionSupport integration, validation, and performance optimizationEvaluate and integrate third-party / open-source software What We’re Looking For BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar7–9+ years of software development experienceStrong experience in C / C++Proven background in embedded systems and hardware interactionExperience building complex, multi-threaded applicationsFamiliarity with:Software configuration & version control toolsDebugging and troubleshooting real-world systemsStrong communication skills (you’ll be customer-facing at times) Nice to Have Aerospace or space systems experienceFlight software or mission systems experienceFamiliarity with:NASA cFS or similar frameworksCOSMOS or mission ops toolsExperience with:ARM processors / microcontrollersSDK developmentAbility to read schematics and datasheets Compensation & Benefits $142,000 – $189,500 base salaryEquity (stock options)Comprehensive benefits:Medical, dental, visionHSA / FSALife & disabilityRetirement plans Eligibility Requirement Due To Export Control Regulations, Applicants Must Be U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, or otherwise authorized to work on U.S. government-regulated programs
