Principal Finance Analyst

About the role

The Principal Finance Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Mammoth Lakes, CA, responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the daily operations of the department and supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for the District.

Responsibilities

• Supports the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for the District.
• Applies financial principles to operational and capital planning.
• Manages multiple priorities, meets deadlines, and collaborates with cross-functional teams in an on-site environment.
• Explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Finance, including experience with public sector or utility finance.
• Bachelor’s degree, with preference for finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CPFO) is beneficial.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial software; familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting standards, revenue and expense forecasting, and internal control structure is an advantage.

Pay

The pay range for the position is $120,328 - $156,229/year, with annual performance-based pay increase and bonus.
