Principal Faculty Oakland University Master of Physician Assistant Science Program; Assistant Professor of Practice
School/College & Department/Program Summary
Serve as a Principal Faculty member of the MPAS (Master of Physician Assistant Science) program through the following duties, as assigned by the Program Director:
- Provide student instruction
- Evaluate student performance
- Affirm the availability of remedial instruction
- Provide academic counseling of students.
As an active member of the faculty:
- Help design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the curriculum
- Develop, review, and revise as necessary the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program
- Select applicants for admission to the MPAS program
- Evaluate MPAS program outcomes
- Aid in developing, upholding, and refining program policies and procedures
Essential Functions
Actively participate in local, regional, and national PA educational and professional organizations;
- Maintain applicable professional certification
- Support and participate in professional development opportunities and scholarly activities
- Maintain a collegial learning and working environment for faculty, staff, students, community partners, and other stakeholders
Contributions to the Program
Contribute to the broader faculty objectives of the Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences Department and the School of Health Sciences, including:
- Advancement of the strategic plan and initiatives of the University, School, and Department
- Championing commitment to the health of all people and communities, fostering an environment where all members of the university community can thrive
- Representation of the program on department, school, and university-level committees and in community service activities
