General Purpose of Role Develops, manages, and/or executes all estimating activities on assigned project(s). This level of Estimator has an understanding of multiple disciplines and draws upon extensive experience and exposure to various types of projects and clients. The position requires a strong working knowledge of home office services and field construction costs along with strong experience in a variety of estimating techniques. Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, engineering drawings and specifications. This position can be based in either Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities Proactively sets priorities related to complex situations having multi-project and/or organizational impact. Contributions are primarily technical rather than managerial. May be involved in guiding strategies.Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with policy and for coordination of other company departments.Provide technical guidance to staff and may assign work. Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy. Plans, controls & reports on project work. May have direct reports and may make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of staff.Seasoned ability to inform and persuade on complex matters comes from recognition as subject matter expert. Utilized on complex and difficult problems.Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools.Ensure adherence to the preparation and/or supervision of cost estimates in accordance with the approved procedures during various project phases including Pre-FEED and FEEDProvide support in the development of estimating standards, procedures and systems for the estimating of tenders and proposalsProvide cost estimating guidance to projects What You Will Bring Technical and Industry Experience: Thorough technical and practical estimating skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplinesKnowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.Highly competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software and tools.Thorough technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline, including experience in project engineering and management with specialized estimating expertise.An understanding of project planning and scheduling experience and demonstrable leadership in working with a multi-disciplinary team in large scale projects.Indirect estimating and staffing plan development Preferred Local candidates in Houston and Baton Rouge strongly preferredPostgraduate qualifications in the relevant discipline; management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent qualification/experiencePrevious LNG and major project experience leading a group of estimators Strong organizational skills and ability to deal with challenging situations. Strong understanding on contractual and subcontract language and evaluation preferred. Ability to work 60+ hour workweeks, weekends, holidays in office 100% of the time. Aspen Capital Cost Estimator and Cleopatra previous estimating experience. Previous project control and cost report creation a plus.
