Overview of Job Function

Verint’s Principal Software Engineer designs and develops key cloud-first, full-stack software products. This role works with Product Management, Development, Operations, and Client Services teams to develop creative solutions satisfying technical and business requirements. Additionally, the role provides recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency, and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership by influencing the design and architecture of major software components, systems, automation testing, and features
  • Foster the culture of creativity and excellence through technical innovations and thought leadership
  • Mentor and train other engineers on design techniques, test automation methodologies, and coding standards
  • Lead and promote best practices in automated testing and continuous integration
  • Improve architecture and code base to be scalable to support growth

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in design and architect of large-scale applications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of owning architecture for large-scale, distributed SaaS products used by enterprise customers
  • Hands-on experience, across full technology stack, in developing and architecting web applications that are scalable for large enterprise customers
  • 5 years experience of full stack development
  • 5 years experience of Java and/or NodeJS programming language
  • Familiarity with JavaScript UI library such as React, Angular or Vue
  • 5 years experience with SQL and relational data modeling for scalable enterprise applications
  • 3 years experience designing data aggregation, transformation, and processing logic to support analytics, recommendations, automation, or intelligent product features
  • 5 years experience with containerized runtime environments: Docker, Kubernetes
  • 5 years experience with REST API and microservice applications
  • 5 years experience integrating AI/ML, generative AI, or intelligence services into enterprise software products
  • Familiarity with LLM-based application patterns, including prompt orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, and AI-assisted workflows
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, including data privacy, security, explainability, bias mitigation, and safe handling of customer data
  • Experience with GIT
  • Familiarity with test automation tools, Exposure to automation, exploratory, and modern testing techniques
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, distributed tracking, log analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field
  • Understanding of Workforce Management (WFM), forecasting and scheduling
  • Experience designing secure, scalable integrations with internal and external AI services through APIs, event-driven services, or microservices
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources to enable intelligent recommendations, automation, summarization, or decision support
  • Experience applying AI capabilities in SaaS, cloud, customer engagement, WFM, analytics, automation, or enterprise workflow products
