Hybrid in Charlotte, NC (open to Plano, TX). 12+ month contract to hire. Pay range: $65–68/hr W2. About the role

Our client, a leader in the financial services industry, is seeking a Principal Engineer / Software Architect to join their team. As a Principal Engineer / Software Architect, you will be part of the Technology Development Department supporting multiple engineering teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, innovative thinking, and excellent collaboration skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize highly scalable and secure enterprise applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Lead the development of REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures to support business needs.
  • Implement best practices for application security, vulnerability remediation, and secure coding standards.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

  • Expert-level hands-on experience in full stack development with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and ReactJS.
  • Deep expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, resilient, and secure applications.
  • Extensive experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Spring Framework, JPA, Hibernate, and Oracle SQL.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and automated testing frameworks.
