Salary range is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This position is scheduled to work M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field
  • 8 years of experience as a registered engineer in water and wastewater utility design, construction, unit process control and optimization
  • At least two (2) years of previous supervisory experience
  • An Arizona Professional Engineer Licensure
  • A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

  • Work side by side with various city operations and maintenance teams, interface with regulatory agencies, other governmental stakeholders, as well as city residents and utility customers
  • Supervise the daily operations of assigned staff, which may include professional, technical, and clerical personnel
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling, ESRI programs, and utility/system master planning
  • Experience with capital planning for public infrastructure
  • Experience with private development design and construction of public infrastructure

About the Role

The Utilities Administration Division of the Public Works & Utilities Department is one of six American Public Works Association (APWA) Accredited agencies in the State. This division is responsible for providing management direction in planning, developing, operating, constructing, and maintaining water, wastewater, and solid waste public infrastructure, which is accomplished by working with city staff, elected officials, and the public.
