Principal Engineer, IP Program Management - CCS

About the Role

Marvell’s Custom Compute and Storage Business Unit (CCS) is an industry leader in custom silicon solutions for accelerated computing infrastructure. We partner with customers to execute complex custom solutions with flexible engagement models using the most advanced technologies and IP. This role involves cross-functional technical leadership within the IP Program Management (PM) team to drive complete IP solutions for Marvell’s most complex chips. You will work across functional teams to define, identify, deliver, and manage IP solutions, collaborating with internal and external IP suppliers on roadmaps, costs, schedule, quality, and strategic factors. The role requires proactive issue identification to prevent impacts on chip sizing or execution through mass production, interfacing internally and externally at multiple seniority levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end project management for IP on custom processors.
• Align IP needs of the Business Unit with current and future IP offerings from internal and external sources, using data and models to drive decision-making.
• Facilitate on-time licensing and acquisition of IPs and associated collateral.
• Confirm that IP validation plans and reports comply with qualification and customer requirements.
• Drive the IP portion of all reviews and checkpoints to ensure IP quality and delivery during the product lifecycle process.
• Conduct IP issue analysis and resolution.
• Lead quality-related initiatives for IP, including continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience, or Master’s degree and/or PhD with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of a formal degree.
• Minimum of 5 years in semiconductor industry program management or a related role.
• Proven leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
• Outstanding cross-functional management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, manage expectations, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• Advanced skills in risk identification, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions aligning with internal strategic objectives and customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid technical background in an area applicable to custom processor development, such as design, validation, test, or quality.
• Experience working with customers, external partners, or technology vendors in a semiconductor or related hardware context.
• Previous work with one or more types of IP or technology used in modern SoC designs.

Pay

Expected base pay range: $160,100 – $236,990 per annum. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
