Principal Engineer I - Wireless / WiFi Operations

About the role

Drive engineering activities that will take Spectrum’s telecommunications and signal processing systems to new heights. Collaborate with technical operations staff on system design and configuration, while guiding design teams and advising team leaders to ensure cutting-edge solutions and seamless integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas
• Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
• Test and review system designs
• Provide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met
• Mentor and guide the work of technical staff
• Review work plans and design and advise on improvements
• Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable
• Know, understand and follow company policy

Requirements

• Education: Master’s or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
• Experience: 5+ years engineering work experience, 5+ years project management work experience
• Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards; Knowledge of Spectrum products and services; Knowledge of Spectrum products and services

Qualifications

• Education: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)
• Skills: Basic knowledge of network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology; Basic knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model; Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations; Basic knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances; Basic knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio; Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly; Ability to use personal computer and software applications

Pay

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,800.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
