Principal Engineer I

About the role

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical operations staff on system design and configuration
• Guide design teams and advise team leaders to ensure cutting-edge solutions and seamless integration
• Drive engineering activities that will take Spectrum’s telecommunications and signal processing systems to new heights
• Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas
• Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
• Test and review system designs
• Provide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met
• Mentor and guide the work of technical staff
• Review work plans and design and advise on improvements
• Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable
• Know, understand and follow company policy

Requirements

• Education: Master’s or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
• Experience: 5+ years engineering work experience, 5+ years project management work experience

Qualifications

• Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards; Knowledge of Spectrum products and services; Knowledge of Spectrum products and services
• Preferred Qualifications: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE); Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)

The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
