About the Role

Waters is seeking an experienced Principal AEM Engineer to drive the development and evolution of our global digital experience ecosystem. This role will provide hands-on technical leadership across Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Edge Delivery Services, Analytics, Marketo, and related digital platforms, helping deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing customer experiences across more than 100 countries.

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance Waters' global digital experience platform supporting customers in 100+ countries using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Edge Delivery Services.
  • Develop scalable, high-performance web solutions leveraging AEM Sites, Assets, Content Fragments, React, Analytics, and Marketing technologies.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, UX teams, and engineers to deliver innovative digital experiences across web and commerce channels.
  • Drive engineering excellence through hands-on development, code reviews, technical problem solving, and mentoring of development teams.
  • Contribute to the modernization of Waters.com through AEM Cloud Service, Edge Delivery Services, performance optimization, accessibility, and customer experience improvements.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Adobe Experience Manager development experience.
  • Deep expertise in AEM Sites, Assets, Workflows, Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, Sling Models, OSGi, and Dispatcher.
  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).
  • Experience implementing Adobe Edge Delivery Services and Universal Editor.
  • Strong Java/J2EE development experience.
  • Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3 development skills.
  • Experience implementing Adobe Analytics and Adobe Launch solutions.
  • Experience integrating Marketo forms, lead management, and marketing automation capabilities.
  • Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Experience with GitHub, Cloud Manager, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Akamai CDN and website performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, Accessibility (WCAG), and Core Web Vitals.
  • Experience supporting global, multi-language digital platforms.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, analytical, and technical leadership skills.

  • Lead technical implementation across Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Edge Delivery Services initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards and best practices.
  • Drive technical quality, performance, security, and maintainability across digital solutions.
  • Partner with Architects and Engineering Managers to ensure successful solution delivery.

  • Optimize Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, caching, and website performance.
