The Principal Engineer provides expert technical guidance to internal and external customers on the application of Weidmann's materials and products in transformer insulation designs to achieve our business growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Advise managers, executives, and global technical teams on technical matters, including key products, projects, and best practices.
- Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor developments to maintain Weidmann’s leadership.
- Provide technical support and training to engineers, enhancing their capabilities and ensuring industry standards compliance.
- Participate in industry committees and events to communicate Weidmann’s insulation expertise.
- Support customer satisfaction through direct technical assistance and collaboration with the commercial team.
- Lead and coordinate innovation projects, including new product development, trials, and validation for commercialization.
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in a transformer manufacturing facility, including transformer electrical design, product development or R&D, project management, and external customer interaction.
- Excellent English proficiency (verbal and written), strong computer skills (e.g., MS Office, CAD), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel internationally when needed.
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Involvement in IEEE or other industry groups preferred.

Pay
Starting salary: $109,000.00
