Principal Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive critical initiatives from architecture through delivery, often leading efforts that span multiple engineers or teams
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems, setting technical direction and best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through influence, guiding engineers and elevating team standards
• Contribute hands-on to the codebase, solving complex technical challenges and ensuring high-quality output

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience; 8+ years of software engineering experience, including designing and building scalable systems
• Tech Stack: Front End: Angular (vX+), Typescript; Backend: Node.JS (NestJS / Express); Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda / ECS / RDS); Data: MongoDB Atlas, SQL Server; Payment integrations: Stripe, Treasury Prime, Quickbooks
• Required Skills & Competencies: Strong system design and problem-solving skills; Ability to lead complex efforts across teams in a fast-paced environment; High ownership mindset with attention to detail and quality; Self-motivated and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution; Collaborative, team-oriented approach that fosters a strong engineering culture
