About the role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer with 10-25 years of design and field experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations, analysis, and design
- Interact with clients and other design and construction professionals
- Conduct forensic investigations and litigation support for expert witness services
- Perform business development tasks and develop a book of business
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree; Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred
- Professional licensure/registration for the state of IL required
- Experienced with AutoCAD and computer aided analysis/design of structures is required; experience with BIM software a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills are also required
- Some travel is required to attend site meetings and perform investigations
- The successful candidate will be able to bring a book of work and clients to SOCOTEC and help us to grow the Chicago office
- Service sectors that include Infrastructure, Transportation, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Structural Dynamics will be those most strongly considered
Pay
Salary: $150k–$225k
