Principal Engineer

About the role

Drive the future of energy by leading the engineering strategy for LCRA Wholesale Power’s generation interconnections in ERCOT, the epicenter of the AI and data center boom. Evaluate and execute critical projects while providing vital engineering support for corporate development within LCRA service territory. Our mission is to improve the lives of Central Texas with safety as a top priority.

Responsibilities

• Leverage critical thinking and analytical engineering principles to evaluate potential projects.
• Spearhead various projects ensuring accountability and timely completion of all deliverables.
• Deliver concise reporting evaluations to drive definitive “Go/No-Go” recommendations based on feasibility and strategic alignment.
• Partner with external and internal stakeholders to align strategic business objectives into practical cost-effective roadmaps.
• Leverage a high level of adaptability and collaborate with a tight-knit team to drive success in evolving projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science, or related science.
• Fifteen or more years of post-Bachelor’s engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization, including project management and providing technical leadership.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
• Driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a power generator.
• Proficient in entrepreneurial execution of new projects.
• Proficient in analyzing reports and conducting technical evaluations.
