Principal Engineer

Description

This opportunity is for a flexible, self-motivated, and innovative individual with an interest in leading remedial systems design projects, providing senior level technical direction, strategic project planning, and developing high-quality work products for our wide variety of clients. The successful individual will be an integral team member that will provide technical leadership for our remediation service lines for remediation projects located throughout the United States and, potentially, internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or support remedial system designs such as groundwater extraction and treatment systems, soil vapor extraction systems, thermal remediation system, and in-situ injection remedies.
• Prepare engineering design documents including technical specifications, bid packages, cost estimates, and as-built drawings.
• Perform remedy selection and feasibility evaluations for complex sites with multiple contaminants and regulatory frameworks.
• Conduct performance monitoring design and optimization, and system O&M evaluations.
• Support permitting efforts (RCRA, NPDES, Air) and development of regulatory submittals.

Required Experience and Expertise

• Include Bachelor’s level degree or post-graduate degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Professional engineer licensing.
• At least 10+ years of environmental consulting experience, preferably with expertise in remedial system design.
• Experience in water treatment system design for various contaminants.
• Experience in performance monitoring program design, evaluation, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations and technical guidance.
