About the role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight / Guidance Navigation & Control (GN&C) Software Team. This position supports the Sentinel Program based in Roy, Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop flight system embedded software applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software products
  • Develop real-time software for weapon systems
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and execute those plans
  • Familiarity with security coding standards, static and dynamic scanning tools, and automation for regression testing
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source code configuration management tools
  • Experience with UNIX and Windows environments
  • Experience with GreenHills or VxWorks

Requirements

  • T3 Principal Embedded Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree in STEM with 3+ years of related experience, or PhD in STEM with 1+ year of related experience
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period of time
  • 2+ years of experience in developing software in C/C++, C#, Python, Java, or similar programming languages
  • 2+ years of experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns, hardware/software communication interfaces, real-time and post-processing data analytics
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering using Cameo

Qualifications

  • Experience developing software in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts)
  • Experience with developing and maintaining software using CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e. git)
  • Experience using automation to regression test software products

Skills

  • Security coding standard best practices
  • Static and dynamic scanning tools (SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity, PCLint, etc.)

Pay

$98,400.00 - $147,600.00
