Principal Electrical Engineer - LNG

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate closely with EPC contractors and operations teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems

Required Skills

• 10–15 years of experience in Power Systems, particularly HV Cable Systems, HV Gas Insulated Circuit Breakers, HV Switchgear, Harmonics, and Power System Protection
• Proficiency in Power System Modeling (ETAP experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of electrical design standards including IEEE 519
• Excellent technical communication skills—verbal and written
• Experience with factory and site acceptance testing
• Ability to review and approve detailed design, procurement, and testing documentation
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix project environment
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Willingness to obtain TWIC

Nice to Have Skills

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with grounding, lightning protection, and bonding
• Familiarity with utility interfacing and grid coordination (CenterPoint Energy interactions)
• Experience with HAZOPs, safety, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Extensive experience in LNG or large-scale energy projects
• Proven track record in QA/QC and project management in complex electrical systems

Other Requirements

• Willingness to travel frequently between project sites, EPC offices, and suppliers domestically and internationally
• Must hold or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
