About the role

Our Team at Semtech develops force sensing solutions that eliminate design compromises in traditional mechanical buttons and capacitive touch, offering sealed, material-agnostic interfaces that enhance user experience and product reliability. This role involves integrating these sensing products into various electronic devices, collaborating with OEMs on next-generation products, and supporting customers from concept to mass production.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead schematic designs, PCB layouts, Gerber files, bill of materials, fabrication notes, and design reviews
  • Provide technical judgment and direction in component selection and sourcing to meet electrical, mechanical, cost, and reliability requirements
  • Manage vendors to ensure on-time delivery of designed boards and modules
  • Own board-level and system-level evaluation, characterization, and debug of fabricated circuit boards, modules, and prototypes
  • Collaborate with R&D team to perform bench-level verification of new chips and resolve system-level issues for both internal and external customers
  • Work on a variety of tasks including electrical design, mechanical design, and firmware integration
  • Experience the entire product lifecycle from concept design to mass production
  • Provide technical support to customers in Asia and Europe

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in electronic design, spanning proof-of-concept through mass production
  • Proficiency with Altium, Cadence, or Siemens for schematic capture and PCB layout with multiple boards fabricated
  • Hands-on experience in analog/mixed-signal circuitry
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: ADCs, sensor, embedded system design, firmware development, sensor signal post-processing
  • Hands-on experience with digital communication interfaces (such as I2C, SPI, UART, or similar protocols) for complex embedded system integration and validation
  • Experience developing or modifying software or firmware using C/C++, Python, or similar languages to support hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, and system integration
  • Experience preparing and authoring technical documentation — including datasheets, application notes, PCB design guidelines, integration guides, or root cause analysis reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10%, domestic and international
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and enthusiastic with a commitment to achieving business objectives
