About the Role

We are looking for a player-coach who is passionate about teaching electrical and electronic systems design to less experienced engineers. This hands-on role thrives in the fast-paced environment of consulting and involves complex electrical engineering projects. You will be an experienced engineering leader with a broad range of electrical engineering disciplines, including analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, PCB design, sensors, instrumentation, embedded electronics, and electromechanical systems. As a creative problem solver, you will connect scientific theory with engineering design to create novel products. Collaboration is key—you will work alongside mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, industrial design, and systems engineers to create exceptional products. Strong communication skills are essential to explain technical concepts clearly to clients, teammates, and multidisciplinary project teams. You will be client-focused, energized by understanding customer challenges, developing innovative solutions, and building trusted relationships. A passion for building, testing, troubleshooting, and refining prototypes is crucial, using hands-on experimentation to improve product performance. Adaptability and lifelong learning are vital, as every project presents new technologies, industries, and engineering challenges. You will be passionate about developing products that have never existed before and helping bring innovative ideas to market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative electrical and electronic solutions for products spanning medical devices, robotics, industrial automation, life sciences, and emerging technologies.
  • Work throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from early concept and architecture through prototyping, testing, verification, manufacturing, and production.
  • Design analog and digital circuitry, power systems, embedded electronics, sensor interfaces, instrumentation, PCB assemblies, and electromechanical control systems.
  • Build, troubleshoot, and refine prototypes using industry-standard laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and industrial design engineers.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their challenges, participate in technical reviews and demonstrations, and partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to transition designs into production.
  • Lead technical teams and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Guide clients through the big picture while diving deep into technical details.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience developing electrical or electronic products.
  • Experience taking products from concept through manufacturing in a consulting services environment.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design.
  • PCB design and layout experience.
  • Knowledge of embedded electronics and microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience with electrical design and simulation tools such as Altium, OrCAD, PSpice, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience debugging hardware and validating designs.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach engineers, fostering their growth and success.
  • Strong curiosity, collaboration skills, and a desire to continuously learn.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $250,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans.
