What You Will Be Doing

• High level language programming for a variety of applications including python, java, and others
• Database design and programming including stored procedures and reporting in platforms such as SQL
• Design and program custom industrial applications, web-based applications, software, and complex architecture using platforms including Ignition
• Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing user interfaces in a variety of platforms
• Use Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Understand project scope and value proposition for clients as well as the user perspective
• Break deliverables down into user stories and tasks, and provide accurate time estimations for both
• Communicate status, scope, blockers, and issues both internally and externally
• Work with the sales and estimating team to plan out the amount of time and hours for completing various tasks on programming jobs
• Provide technical oversight and quality control on projects to ensure project success
• Help mentor and train other Developers

What You Need For This Position

• BS in Computer Science, Math, Software, Chemical, Mechanical or electrical engineering preferred, or relevant experience (2+ years)
• 7-10+ years of experience in software engineering and development and/or industrial programming
• Expert level experience in Ignition
• Understand at least two of the following: C#, C++, Java, Python and a subject matter expert in at least one
• Proficient in the design/architecture and implementation of databases
• Experienced in API development
• Proficient in web-based development and systems programming
• Experienced in understanding and applying industry standard software design practices and programming methodologies
• Track record of technical leadership successes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 20%
