Principal Data Platform Engineer

About the role

This is a Principal Data Platform Engineer role focused on Snowflake architecture, cloud computing, and data governance. The position requires 15+ years of experience and involves leading data platform initiatives in a hybrid capacity.

What you will do

• Design and implement Snowflake architecture with 5+ years of hands-on development experience.
• Manage data modeling, data warehousing, and modern ELT processes.
• Implement Bronze/Silver/Gold Medallion Architecture and Infrastructure as Code with Git-based CI/CD.
• Ensure data governance, security, performance, and cost optimization using Snowflake RBAC.
• Develop data quality, observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Create semantic layers and integrate with Power BI.
• Prepare data for AI/ML initiatives, including Cortex AI, semantic models, and vector-based structures.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to teams.

What we are looking for

• 15+ years of professional experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, including Cortex, Snowpark ML, Openflow, Snowpipe, Snowpark, SnowSQL, and Horizon.
• AWS experience with S3, IAM, PrivateLink, and CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in Python and Advanced SQL.
• Experience with Data Architecture, Cloud Computing, ETL Processes, Big Data Technologies, Database Management, Data Warehousing, and Data Governance.
• Experience leading data platform initiatives.
