About the role
The Principal Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data architectures that support the organization’s strategic goals. This role requires deep expertise in data management, database design, and data integration technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Lead data modeling efforts to improve data quality and usability
- Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
- Stay current with emerging data technologies and trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture and management
- Proven track record of successful data architecture projects
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling tools
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Experience with major data management platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, AWS)
- Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend)
- Experience with data governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001)
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau)
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure)
