Principal Creative Technologist
About the role
The Principal Creative Technologist leads the evolution of Cotality's design system into a dynamic, generative framework. They work closely with stakeholders to manage strategic projects, architect agentic workflows, and ensure seamless, human-centric experiences for AI agents, software, and robots.
Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic AI Projects: Manage the direction of user experience on individual strategic projects, working with stakeholders to take a project from completion.
- Architect Agentic Workflows: Facilitate user research and testing using AI and Agentic Models to analyze and report findings.
- Design for Adaptability: Consider users who are AI Agents, Software, and Robots, creating solutions for dynamic state changes.
- Collaborate with Engineering: Work with highly technical teams in agile environments to ensure design tokens align with model outputs.
- Evolve the Design System: Develop and manage a repository of UX assets and standards that support both human-authored and AI-generated components.
- Mentor and Coach: Provide guidance and support to other designers to ensure they are well-versed in industry nuances and AI competencies.
- Advocate for the User: Write whitepapers and documentation to champion the user experience within the AI landscape.
- Support Handoffs: Deliver accurate design specifications, epics, and user stories required to implement complex AI designs.
Requirements
Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in UI design, interaction design, or systems design, with a focus on large enterprise B2B or B2C solutions.
AI Mastery: Proven experience using Agentic AI to create research artifacts, curate data, and create synthesis.
Tooling Expertise: Mastery of Figma and a natural curiosity for new, innovative tools that streamline the design-to-code process.
Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of how HTML, JavaScript, and CSS inform interaction decisions.
Design Excellence: Mastery of the principles of interface design, accessibility guidelines (WCAG), and inclusive design practices.
Communication: Strong ability to articulate design vision and defend decisions to business and technology leaders.
Education: A degree in design, HCI, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Portfolio: A professional portfolio showing examples of leveraging AI to reduce redundant tasks and solving complex user problems.

- Annual Pay Range: 111,900 - 150,000 USD
