About the role
We are now looking for a CPU System Software Architect to join NVIDIA in revolutionizing artificial intelligence. You will collaborate with hardware and software engineers to design the next generation CPUs and System on Chips (SoCs), providing direction and advice for optimizing solutions across various software engineering organizations.
Responsibilities
- Craft the next generation CPUs and SoCs with a deep understanding of software architecture, system software technologies, and modern operating systems.
- Drive hardware architecture decisions by leveraging your expertise in OS/driver software stacks, such as Linux, and a strong background in software development with C.
- Collaborate with key partners to customize solutions tailored to their needs.
- Research emerging industry trends for NVIDIA's key markets and provide strategic insights to senior management.
Requirements
- A Master's or PhD degree in computer or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of software and/or architecture experience with CPUs and SoCs.
- A deep knowledge of OS/driver software stacks, including Linux, and extensive experience in software development with C.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex problems clearly and effectively, driving collaboration among multi-functional groups.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal interpersonal skills to work efficiently within a global team.
Skills
- A thorough understanding of processor architectures, such as ARM, RISC-V, and x86.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisors.
- Familiarity with CPU and SoC security architecture, including ARM Confidential Compute.
Benefits
NVIDIA offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $272,000 - $431,250 for Level 6 and $320,000 - $488,750 for Level 7, along with equity and comprehensive benefits. Applications for this position are accepted until June 16, 2026.
