Principal Consultant - Utility Revenue Requirements Specialist
Job Description
The Principal Consultant - Utility Revenue Requirements Specialist will prepare, file and defend revenue requirements requests and other regulatory filings and projects from our utility clients across North America.
Responsibilities
- Prepare filing materials including written testimony, schedules and other exhibits for clients, and for regulatory agencies in several states and provinces
- Provide detailed analyses that support the regulatory filings, with the ability to defend the materials from other sources who may oppose them
- Oversee and manage entire projects from start to finish, delegating all tasks, and maintaining regular communications with clients on project timelines
- Provide and support expert witness testimony in support of the clients regulatory proposals, in front of regulatory agencies
- Research, compile, and present state, provincial, and national precedent and trends regarding utility ratemaking and other regulatory matters
- Support Concentric’s M&A practice on matters related to regulatory due diligence and risks
- Aid in business development opportunities and building new and existing utility client relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Economics, Math, Finance, or Accounting
- Masters Degree, MBA or PhD preferred
- 5+ years experience in utilities revenue requirements, either at a consulting firm, a utility, a public utilities commission, or a Big 4 Accounting firm
- Expert knowledge of utility regulatory policies and practices, tariffs, rate cases and filings
- Experience with revenue requirements and cost of capital
- Experience writing or providing expert witness testimony for utility rate cases
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
- Very strong communication and presentation skills, including Microsoft Office suite
Pay
Depending on the level hired, the base salary for this role will typically fall between $128,000 to $191,000 plus annual incentive compensation bonus.
