About the role
The Principal Cloud Data Engineer plays a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput data pipelines and ingestion workflows. This role collaborates with product organizations and Product Owners/Product Managers to support the foundational data platform roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-throughput data pipelines and ingestion workflows.
- Implement transformation logic, data quality checks, and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with platform architecture and product teams to support the foundational data platform roadmap.
- Optimize data flows for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Maintain platform health and troubleshoot ingestion or processing issues.
- Build reusable components that scale across markets and business units.
- Able to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
Requirements
- 7+ years of data engineering/development experience.
- Strong hands-on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud-native data processing tools.
- Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, or cloud-based warehouses.
- Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Qualifications and Education
- 7+ years of data engineering/development experience.
- Strong hands-on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud-native data processing tools.
- Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, or cloud-based warehouses.
- Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Working on-site at assigned office location.
- Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
- Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
- Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
- Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
- Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
- Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
