About the role

As a Principal Structural Engineer you will support design activities in the area of structural steel and reinforced concrete design. You will report to the Structural Steel Senior Manager, Building Engineering & Physical Design and be located at global headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis for steel structures including primary member design, bolted/welded connection designs, and concrete anchorage.
  • Address technical issues related to the fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of a civil/structural project, including technical justification of design changes and troubleshooting of emergent technical issues.
  • Prepare drawing markups to support change packages.
  • Provide on-site support at multiple utilities and smaller projects.
  • Offer engineering guidance and mentorship to assist team members in their development to support department and company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects in both technical and operational aspects.
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication processes, design for fabrication methods, and supporting construction/installation activities for major steel structures.
  • Proficiency with GT Strudl structural analysis tool.
  • Fluent to expert knowledge of AISC N690/Steel Manuals, AWS Welding, and/or ACI codes and standards.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
